Meeting of the UAS General Assembly
From May 23 to 25, 2025, representatives of the Student Government of Kharkiv National Medical University — Mariia Cherkashyna, Anna Matuzok, and Yehor Zubenko took part in the XXI General Assembly of the Ukrainian Association of Students, held in the city of Poltava.
This event became an important platform for student leaders from all over Ukraine, where participants had the opportunity to discuss pressing challenges and prospects for the student community, exchange experiences, and generate new ideas for the development of education.
During the panel discussions, participants explored the role of education, youth, and innovation in building a resilient country, the involvement of students in the historical events of modern Ukraine, and the importance of universities in shaping active civic engagement among young people.
The discussions included representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, the Poltava City Council, business and civil society organizations, emphasizing the openness and significance of dialogue between students and public institutions.
Particular attention during the Assembly was devoted to the election of a new Executive Committee of the UAS, the adoption of amendments to the organization’s Statute, and the development of resolutions on current issues in student life. Participants also had the opportunity to present the cultural heritage of their regions at the interregional evening and to engage in meaningful dialogue with fellow student communities from across the country.
The General Assembly once again proved: when students are united by a common goal, their voice is powerful and the voice of students truly matters.
